Polish School of Space Engineering (Polska Szkoła Inżynierii kosmicznej – PSIK) is launching CANduino into stratosphere
Polish School of Space Technology is an educational project in which young people are building mini satellites called CANduino which will be taken on helium balloon up to the edge of space.
Workers of Space Research Center (SRC) and N. Copernicus Astronomical Center (NCAC) both of Polish Academy of Sciences have designed an educational platform called CANduino (www.canduino.eu) which is miniature “spacecraft” built according to CANsat standard. It resembles a 0.33l soda can. Inside there is onboard computer, various sensors and radio transmitter which allows for relying mission data to ground station. Thanks to “Fundacja na rzecz Nauki Polskiej” pupils from four schools in Lębork and Słupsk have joined the project. During the project they participated in many workshops and teleconferences with space engineers from SRC and NCAC.
First CANduino was launched to stratosphere thanks to Institute of Meteorology and Water Management and Copernicus Project.
